Blue Ocean Provides Data Management Upgrade for St. Rose's

Blue Ocean was pleased to work with Birmingham's St. Rose Academy recently to overhaul their data management system.

Burdened with an old server and a cumbersome backup system, we were able to update their network and improve the functionality for teachers, students and the staff.

What goes into a data management overhaul? We performed a needs assessment for St. Rose's and implemented the following enhancements:

• Replaced the old server with a new, more powerful model to handle the school's increased traffic.
• Removed the cumbersome backup system and replaced it with a much more user friendly system.
• Improved wireless connectivity and added enhanced security features.
• Lowered power consumption for the entire system.
• We physically secrued locked racks.
• Provided a bigger UPS in case of power outages or brownouts.

In essence, we managed a complete data makeover for the school.
